Call them "Skips", "Vee Type Tipping Wagons", or "Side Dump Cars", these rugged little cars have been manufactured in more countries, in greater numbers than any other type of 2' (600mm) gauge industrial cars. They were equally at home working in quarries, peat bogs and brick yards. They hauled ballast, fill, and sometimes even troops on the Western Front during World War I.
